These black sneakers are modeled after Koyomi Araragi’s uniform, including the striking red of its collar and bottom hem. These intense red lines, flowing like blood in veins, are a distinctive detail of this stunning item.
Around the opening of the shoe is a strip of lamé, dyed in a bordeaux reminiscent of blood.
On the right shoe, his question mark-shaped lock of hair—his ahoge, which comically swings around according to Araragi’s emotions—can be found on the heel.
If you look carefully, you’ll also notice the tucked away tag inspired by book sales cards* on the underside of the shoe tongue!
*Books sold in Japan have a slip of paper called a “sales card” tucked inside used by bookstores to keep inventory records.
The insole design has a grid background taken from Japanese manuscript paper: on it is Araragi’s words addressed to the vampire Kissshot Acerolaorion Heartunderblade in Japanese, 僕がお前を助けてやるーー僕の血を吸え—“I’ll help you. Take my blood.” Other motifs include a bicycle, a classroom desk and chair, items from his room, math formulas, geometric shapes, a magnifying glass, demon sword Kokorowatari, blood splatters, and more.
